Venus is the second planet of the solar system, which means it is a terrestial planet. The mass of this planet is 4.867 * 10^24 kg, making it the 7th largest of the solar system. Its distance from the Sun is about 0.723 AU, which is the 2nd closest planet to the Sun. Its length of day is 116 Earth days, and 18 Earth hours, however, just like Mercury, it takes just over 1 day to complete its orbit around the Sun. Mercury was first discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610. This planet's atmosphere consists mostly of carbon dioxide (96.5%), which makes this planet the hottest planet of the solar system. It also contains 3.5% nitrogen, 150 ppm (parts per billion) of sulfur dioxide, 70 ppm of argon, 20 ppm of water vapor, and very tiny amounts of other substances.

Physical Features

Scientists only found traces of water on this planet. There really isn't anything else in this planet due to its hostile enviornment.

Venus' core consists of metal. This core is similar to Earth's core.
